THE PROBLEM
In 2018 report by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, it is estimated that 500 billion disposable cups are used and discarded worldwide each year, with only 1% being recycled. This is a ballooning problem, one of which many are aware.

TRENDS AND LAWS SHAPING THE INDUSTRY
In 2019, the European Union (EU) introduced the Single Use Plastics Directive. This directive set the direction for EU governments to implement their own restrictions on single-use cups and food packaging by 2026.
Netherlands, Portugal and Germany have already implemented the ban, but this is just the beginning. There are 24 more countries to follow.

Apart from the legislation, it is obvious that trends are shaping the industry too. More people are actively looking to buy from the company that doesn't just make profit but has social and environmental cause to what they do.
In 2020, there was a report by Accenture which said 74% people are already doing so. And in 2023 this number jumped to 94%.

PROBLEM VALIDATION
Initial response to the Reusify has been very strong. In spring of 2023, we launched the pilot with 4 cafes and in one month we gained 100 registered users and prevented 2000 cups from landing into oceans.

EASY TO USE SOLUTION
What Reusify is proposing is to create an infrastructure where you can pick up your cup from one place and drop it at another place and get rewards for it. We want to get there by developing digital affinity program to help coffee drinkers get free coffee rewards and independent cafés make more business and unlike any other loyalty program out there, we are make the world better place in 4 easy steps:

1. select the cafe partner
2. at cafe, pay once for a cup to join
3. confirm cafe you are at and track your impact and claim rewards
4. return the dirty cup to any network location and get the money back or reuse the cup again

REWARDING SUSTAINABILITY AND LOYALTY
The core of our product is a web app that has three main features:

1. count your carbon footprint one cup at the time

2. rewards for each milestone a customer reaches in terms of discounts, free coffees and pastries.
The more you save the more rewards you unlock.

3. sustainable loyalty cards: for each 10 coffees you get in a reusable cup, you get a free coffee.

Our initial focus is on the cup as an entry point. However, our vision extends beyond just cups. We aim to expand our offerings to include takeaway meals as well. By starting with cups, we can effectively capture people's attention and initiate a shift in people's mindset.
